ToyBase can be downloaded and used immediately - just follow these steps:
- fill in the form on the download page and take the tour while you are waiting for the email to arrive
- check your email and click the download link to get the software
- double-click the downloaded file to install the software onto your PC
- read the introduction explaining the basics and away you go!
There is no restriction on it's use other than the demonstration (unpaid) version has a limit of 500 active toys and members. If your organisation fits within this limit - for example you have 50 members and 450 toys - then you can use the software without paying.
ToyBase only counts active members and toys. For example, if a member leaves then their record has a 'date left' entry and they can no longer borrow toys but their borrowing history remains in the database and they do not count towards the active total. Similarly, if a toy is damaged then it's record can be marked as 'written off'. It can no longer be borrowed but it remains in the system for the end-of-year reporting and it does not count against the active total.
