ToyBase Retiring After 20+ years
ToyBase started out as an MSDOS program and in 1995 it looked like this:
It was commissioned by the Ravensbourne Toy Library (now the Ravensbourne Project ) and the Greenwich Toy Library. In 1996 - 20 years ago - we received our first customer Pimlico Toy Library and grew from there and was used from Cornwall to the Shetland Islands, Australia and India.
The domain www.toybase.net is expiring at the end of this month and this site will be archived at toybase.devstopfix.net. The software is no longer in active development but Microsoft do an excellent job of allowing old software to run on their new OS and the software should be able to run indefinitely. There are no licence restrictions in the latest version.
There are many documents on this site which describe how to keep the software running and how to move it between PCs.
Finally I would like to thank Barbara Every who was the driving force behind ToyBase, and Frank Every for running the business side during the growth phase. ToyBase would not have existed without them!
